The mission of the Alliance for Sustainability is to bring about sustainability on a personal, organizational and planetary level. It does this through education, policy and programs that link citizens, consumers, congregations and cities to create sustainable communities.  We support both urban neighborhoods and suburban communities to use all of their local assets to move toward sustainability. We work in the areas of energy conservation, sustainable transportation, water quality, waste reduction and local food and work with 30 long term resource partners on each of these topics.  www.afors.org

One of our Social Enterprise projects is the Community Table Cooperative – empowering Hmong, Latino and African immigrant growers in the Twin Cities to support their families well by developing financially self-sustaining grower’s cooperatives that are linked together with worker-owned marketing, distribution and processing cooperatives.  We are launching our Community Table Association to link our co-ops together to access financing, increase our sales and revenue, increase access to healthy food in low-income neighborhoods and build our collective power by growing a local food industry that we control and own.   www.communitytable.coop
