Executive Director
Kate Barr is Executive Director of Nonprofits Assistance Fund in Minneapolis, whose mission is to build financially healthy nonprofits that foster community vitality.  Kate has led the organization’s growth as a premier resource for training, strategic financial consulting, and loans for nonprofit organizations.  Her responsibilities include strategic and business planning, development, external relations, and public policy.  Prior to joining the organization in 2000, Kate had a career as a bank executive with responsibility for strategy, marketing, and business lending.  With her unique insight and experience, she is a popular speaker, trainer, and writer on nonprofit management and financial issues.  Kate has a Master’s degree from Hamline University and is currently an adjunct faculty member at both Hamline and the University of Minnesota.  She serves on the boards of directors of Neighborhood Development Center, Partners for the Common Good, and the Cultural Data Project.
